Cedar Springs Trek (PCT Hike) May 19-21, 2017

This is a training hike for the summer Sierra trek and for Philmont. If you are planning on doing either of those, you should consider going. On Friday night, we will camp at Hurkey Creek, camp spots 77, 79, 81, and 83. (A brochure and map of Hurkey Creek is attached to this announcement.) Saturday, we will be doing a 10.7 mile secion of the Pacific Crest Trail, and camping at Cedar Springs. Sunday morning, we will hike 3.7 miles down Cedar Springs Trail to our exit point. San Diego Imperial County Spring Trailblazer's Camp

Troop2000 will be hosting a new scout camp, to help the scouts who have just bridged from Webelos to get a strong start in scouting. This announcement is to let those scouts know about an additional resource for them Scan Diego Imperial County BSA council will be offering a Spring Trailblazer’s Camp, a week specifically designed for NEW Scouts. This day camp program is ideal for the Scout who just bridged from Webelos.  The perfect way to launch them forward on the road towards advancement.

Scouts will learn the basic Scout skills leading up to First Class.  They will learn and review the ideals of Scouting found in the Scout Oath, Law and Outdoor Code.  They will receive the Totin’ Chip and Firem’n Chit AND they will earn the First Aid Merit Badge as well as Fingerprinting, Art and at least one additional merit badge.

There will be three sessions of the camp,
March 27-3 1, April 3-7, and April 10-14, all held at the Youth Aquatic Center on Fiesta Island.   Enrollment is limited to ensure the highest quality experience.

Emerald Bay Summer Camp Forms

This year, Troop 2000 will be attending the Emerald Bay Summer Camp from June 25, 2017 through July 1, 2017. This camp is on Catalina Island, and is an excellent facility. It is a unique opportunity for the scouts. There are still some slots left. If you would like to sign up, the necessary forms are attached to this post. Please fill them out and bring them to a troop meeting.
